I have been on the Board of The TripleA since 2015 as a director and now as Deputy Chair. I’m also on the board of the OneNetwork Advisers. My involvement in the financial advisory industry initially started in 1994, where I worked with my father Brian for 2 years. Then, in 2002 when I returned from abroad, I started working for a corporate insurer. After two years, I realised I wanted to control my own destiny so brought into my brother’s insurance advisory business.
In 2013, I began an insurance business with my wife of 18 years, Amanda. We own and operate a successful advisory business with offices in both Christchurch and Nelson. We specialise in most insurance type work for both domestic and business requirements, as well as KiwiSaver, and workplace benefits for corporate and privately owned business clients. We have clients across New Zealand, including Auckland, Wellington and much of the South Island.
Outside of the industry, Amanda and I live in Nelson. We have three adolescent children who are all very busy in and out of college. I am on a sports club committee and also coach both rugby and cricket. We have great kids and live in a lovely part of the country. Pastimes including trail running and mountain biking, as well as a little bit of 40 over cricket in summer. Life is busy, just the way I like it.
